The old "too emotional" thing.
Humans are drawn to relationships. We’re drawn to each other. We need each other to survive and also to grow. That doesn’t mean we need to adopt criticism to “fix” ourselves.

When you have a sensitive nervous system often you hold pain from past relationships which effect how easily you can give and receive love now. It can be easier to blame other people for being less empathetic.

I had to explain to my mum how sensitive I was. She thought I was tough. A very independent woman. Someone who gets on with it and didn't need her..or anyone really.

So many of us take ourselves out of the relationship without leaving. We check out but stay, stop showing love, stop talking about what’s important, stop sharing joys / heartaches and, stop making effort for fear of being disappointed.
