Self Denial For A Highly Sensitive

Self Denial For A Highly Sensitive

July 07, 20242 min read

"Highly sensitive people usually have a sharp inner critic. The inner critic often targets the body because that's where your FEELINGS live."

Beautiful please know,

When you have too many feelings its hard to think straight. Life becomes about living rather than feeling alive.

This is not uncommon for a highly sensitive person -- someone who is wired to perceive and feel MORE.

When you are overwhelmed you are more easily triggered.

It's not your fault, your body just experiences overwhelm more easily. This calls for EXTRA care but often the opposite happens - self denial.

Self-denial can mean pushing your feelings aside because they don't make sense or don't want to upset someone.

It can also mean pushing yourself when you don't have the energy,
or talking yourself out of what you really want.

Did you follow the process I linked in my last blog for removing the intensity of triggers? (if you missed it click here)

In that process we work with your aura: the energy field around your body.

Today's process works with your psyche -- the part of you that uses self-denial and push to protect you.

Download it with one-click access here.

As I continually wake up from this automated life into one with more choices and less baggage — I realise the ways I have denied myself.

For a big chunk of my life I blamed my body for feeling unhappy, exhausted or insecure. I was doing high-intensity exercise, under-eating, socially overcommitting and working multiple jobs.

The life I chose kept me in constant overwhelm. I was always playing catch up.

The overwhelm from the overstimulation made me feel like something was wrong with me.

I was angry at my body for not being able to keep up.

Have you experienced something similar?

Living like this is a strategy that denies a highly sensitive body the ability to rest. Rest creates space for congested feelings to surface. That can be DEEPLY triggering.

We create a sort of bank account of emotional transactions to sort through energetically.

My last newsletter included a process to work with emotional triggers like pictures. This is an important tool so you can feel and witness your discomfort WITH the capacity to transform it.

Today I’m sharing part two: A process to understand how your inner critic keeps you far from your body’s wisdom.

I’ll write to elaborate on that soon. For now, I’d love for you to experience it.

1, 2, maybe 3 times. Let yourself become familiar with the process enough that you go deeper.

It’s important to create a sense of familiarity within this healing work. Email me how you went.
